Isn't the sentence "told you so" part of our daily vocabulary?

The thing is that whatever you do it might be wrong. I've been called a pessimist, a difficult person, a pain in the butt and much worse at different stages of my career when I stood my ground.

And when I didn't. They came and asked me WTF I was doing in testing all this time. Btw proof is of little value when management is looking for a black sheep.

Suffice to say there is no right answer. It depends on context.

Testers cannot change quality. They can provide information and decisions can be made with that information that can change (or not change) quality.

Ultimately it'll come down to the person everybody looks to for the final decision. Whoever that may be.
